This bird has no time for your nonsense. Sculpted after our very own pet canary, the Side-Eying Canary showcases the curious and discerning nature of these birds, as they are often known for their inquisitive and skeptical side glances.

Native to the Spanish archipelago the Canary Islands, canaries were first brought to Europe in the 16th century and quickly gained popularity as delightful household pets among the wealthy. Their beautiful and melodic songs, often considered the quintessential bird song, further endeared them to their owners during the Victorian era in England when they were kept as prized status symbols in ornate cages.

Fans of the iconic movie 'Cabaret' may recognize the canary as a symbol of Sally Bowles' glamorous and rebellious yet caged spirit, as the character played by Liza Minnelli in the 1972 film had a pet canary named 'Ginger,' which can be heard singing throughout the movie.

Whether you're a bird lover or simply appreciate the charm of these fascinating creatures, this piece is sure to bring a touch of whimsy and personality to any space.
